Description

The musical selections of this CD were ones that Laura Ingalls Wilder remembered from her childhood and wrote about in her books. She recalled her father, Charles “Pa” Ingalls, entertaining their family by singing and playing his fiddle. This fiddle was built in the mid 1800s and is believed to have been a promotional gift from a seed company. The Ingalls family received a lot of joy from this old fiddle.

Includes these selections: Arkansas Traveler, Ben Bolt, Buffalo Gals, The Campbells are Coming, Barbary Allen, Captain Jinks, Old Dan Tucker, Irish Washerwoman, Keep the Horseshoe Over the Door, The Gypsy’s Warning, Lily Dale, Highland Mary, Oh Susanna, Sweet By and By, Homesweet Home, When Johnny Comes Marching Home
