Laura and Almanzo Wilder, together with baby Rose, lived for a time in Spring Valley, Minnesota at the home of his parents, James and Angelina Wilder. From May 1890 to October 1891, they recuperated from illness before moving to Florida to consider that state for a possible home site.

This 60-page booklet focuses mainly on the period of time in the 1890s when Laura and Almanzo stayed in Spring Valley, though it looks back into the Wilders’ appearance in Spring Valley about 1870, and then looks to the years that Almanzo’s parents lived there and when Royal Wilder was an active businessman in the town.
